Creativity, Joy and Experiments with Clay, Earth and Soil
European Workshop for Educators L29/2013
Date: October 6th – October 12th 2013
Latest day for submitting funding application is April 30th 2013!
Laetitia Fontaine and Romain Anger in cooperation with CRAterre, International Centre of Earth Building at Ecole d’Architecture de Grenoble have developed a series of small scientific experiments which demonstrate, how you can build a house by simply using earth and clay, a house which can last for centuries. These experiments are known as ” grains de bâtisseurs”, also see http://craterre.org/diffusion:videos-telechargeables/?perpage=15.
The grains de bâtisseurs experiments are simple and joyful, at the same time they provide a deep understanding of basic physics, of earth, water and clay. They enable us easily to understand how and why it is possible to build with earth. And they can be presented in such a way, that they address children, youngster or adults.
You can find more news about “grains de bâtisseurs” here www.grainsdebatisseurs.com
